Vania E. Fernandez, M.D.

Dr. Vania E. Fernandez is a Medical Doctor, Board certified in Anesthesiology and both Board Certified and Fellowship trained in Interventional Pain Management. Dr. Fernandez received her training at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed her residency training at Jackson Memorial Hospital also in Miami. She utilizes a multidisciplinary approach, in which a team of health care professionals at OSI work together to provide a full range of treatments in compassionate manner for patients suffering from post-traumatic pain.

Dr. Fernandez worked as Faculty at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine where she was involved in Research, Teaching and Clinical Care. She has published numerous articles and written several book chapters. She has had affiliations with The University of Miami Hospital, Jackson Memorial Hospital, The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, The Sylvester Cancer Research Center, The University of Miami Outpatient Pain Management Center and the Miami VA Medical Center. Dr. Fernandez is a Founding Faculty Member of the new Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.  She has hospital privileges at Mercy Hospital in Miami.

She treats pain originating from every area of the body. Her goal is to relieve, reduce or manage pain and improve a patient’s overall quality of life through minimally invasive techniques specifically designed to diagnose and treat painful conditions. She also strives to help patients return to their activities of daily living without heavy reliance on medications.
